Lancaster County Restaurant closed, items up for auction

DECADES OLD LAK RESTAURANT IS CLOSED. IN A WAY, YOU CAN ORDER FROM IT. KATELYN SMITH GIVES US A LOOK AT SOME OF THE ITEMS ON THE AUCTION BLOCK. LARGE RESTAURANT. BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME. A PEEK THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR SHOWS A DARK HALLWAY OF A WELL-KNOWN RESTAURANT. IT WAS LIKE THEY WERE IN BUSINESS AND WALKED AWAY. THERE WAS A LOT OF FOOD EVERYWHERE. STUFF WAS NOT CLEANED. IT SMELLED BAD. IT WAS SITTING FOR EIGHT MONTHS. A COMPANY IN TEXAS NOW OWNS THE BUILDING DATING BACK TO 1852 AND EVERYTHING THAT WAS IN IT. APPARENTLY IS A LOT. IT’S A LITTLE OVERWHELMING. MY GUYS ARE LIKE, OH, MAN, WE HAVE TO PULL THIS STUFF OUT? YES, WE DO. LET’S DO IT. THIS IS A TON OF OLD STUFF. PHOTOGRAPHING AND LABELING THOUSANDS OF ITEMS. THERE’S THE LANCASTER JOURNAL. NOT AT ALL WHAT YOU EXPECT TO FIND IN A RESTAURANT. SOME OF IT IS PART OF LANCASTER COUNTY HISTORY. THERE’S PAINTINGS AND PRINTS AND, I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT IS, SOMEONE WILL. YOU CAN BUY THE RESTAURANT’S MENUS. THERE ARE A BUNCH OF THEM HERE. YOU MIGHT WANT ONE. YOU CAN SEE THE MENU FROM THE LAST NIGHT THE RESTAURANT WAS OPEN. I SEE DOLLAR SIGNS HONESTLY. THIS STUFF IS ALL HAS VALUE TO SOMEBODY. HE EXPECTS TO MAKE UP TO $60,000. YOU COULD BID AS LOW AS A PENNY. IF NO ONE ELSE WANTS IT, IT’S YOURS. THIS IS INSANE. KATELYN SMITH, NEWS 8. THE AUCTION WILL BE HELD SOLELY ONLINE. THERE’S A ONE PREVIEW DAY WHERE YOU CAN VISIT THAT WAREHOUSE. SUCH A TREASURE. SO DISAPPOINTING.
