Hi, my name is Matt Cooke of Green’s Art Supply.
We have a couple of locations in the Detroit area. My family has owned Green’s Art Supply
since 1953. Um, and about a year ago, uh, they decided to sell this location here in
Birmingham Michigan. We had to move inventory quickly and so we decided to hire G. A. Wright
to help us with uh, a sale that would get rid of the merchandise here in the store.
Um, we were really impressed with G. A. Wright right from the beginning, they were very helpful
in coming through and letting us know what we would need to do. Um, and the results have
been evident since the very first day. In fact, the first day was amazing. There were
lines uh, wrapping around the store with things going on sale and people were really excited
to be a part of the sale. Um, and that hasn’t stopped. We’ve had uh, uh, good, uh, activity
in the store since that very first day and people have had a lot of fun with the sale.
People have kept coming in, um, and looking for their things. And also, the employees
here have had a good time with the sale as well. Um, we’ve really appreciated the expertise
of our consultant from G. A. Wright, uh, we’ve appreciated the, the information she has given
us, not only for this sale, but for our other location which will continue to, to be operating.
Um, sales have been going better than we even expected and so even through at-at first,
we were first like “Is this a good decision?”, uh, it has obviously been a good choice for
us. What were some of the benefits of this sale? Well to begin with, we got to know a
lot of new customers in the area, people that hadn’t shop at Green’s before, uh, and who
will now be customers at our other location. Also, we had a lot of inventory here, uh,
over the generations of the store existing we’ve gathered a lot of uh, merchandise and
we’ve been able to move that merchandise which has been really exciting. In fact, we’ve had
to tell people that “Actually, we’re out of that”, um, which has been great, um. And then
personally, uh, somebody who is new in the business, I’ve learned a lot from our consultant.
She has had a lot of great suggestions that I’ll uh, continue to use at our other location
as well. As we are leaving this location that we’ve been at for over 50 years, we wanted
to leave on a positive note and we feel that our customers really enjoyed the sale, uh,
and not only them, but the employees as well. Would we recommend G. A. Wright to another
company in the future? Absolutely, we’ve been really impressed uh, with the level of professionalism,
the experience. The sale has gone better than we even anticipated, um, and so for that reason
we would highly recommend G. A. Wright to anybody who is considering doing a sale like
